Check Point Software, a software security company which developed the Software Blade architecture and the well-known ZoneAlarm security platform, announced a record profit for the second quarter ending June 30, 2010. Gil Shwed, the company's Chairman and Chief Executive, released a statement revealing that the company made over 261.1 million, a 17 percent increase over the last record set based on generally accepted accounting procedures, or GAAP. Shwed credited strong growth in sales and product revenues in its main product lines for the jump, which exceeded the company's previous predictions.
