HACKERS are being accused of using Independence Day as a rallying point to launch attacks on the world's most popular websites. YouTube, Wikipedia and iTunes have all reported problems ranging from redirected links and pop-up messages to stacking Most Popular lists. Wikipedia was also down for over an hour, but claimed in a blog post that it was due to power outages at its data centre in Florida. The hackers wreaked havoc with a series of Justin Bieber YouTube pages, redirecting users to pornography websites and videos saying the Canadian pop star had died in a car accident. The first of many spoofs sent fans of the 16-year-old singer into a panic after hackers changed the sound of a video to falsely report Bieber died in a car accident.
