THE Central Applications Office (CAO) website yesterday came under attack from cyber hackers for the second time in three days. The latest incident triggered the automatic issuing of 22,000 new passwords to applicants. It also led the CAO to shut down parts of the website during the day as engineers sought to find out the extent of the damage. The attack is the third in less than two months. It caused confusion for some students, especially those on holidays abroad. But the CAO reassured them the new passwords were genuine and that applicants' data had not been accessed during the attack.
