Trust London's hackers to make garbage sexy. The group behind the unlab, London's first hacker gathering place, has set a date for a hack-a-thon that will make it a whole lot easier to figure out the city's confusing six-day garbage cycle. "We'll be working out the details over the coming weeks, but the idea is to hack together an application to help people find and remember their garbage pickup days," said Shawn Adamsson, the director of operations at rtraction who is involved with the unlab. "It has mass appeal and there's a lot of sexy technical stuff that we can use." Brainstorming is taking place online now as a lead-up to September 25 and 26, a weekend when Londoners are invited to help dream up the garbage application, which will be developed using data provided by the city.
