Foobar2000 0.9.6 beta 4 new freeware อาจจะไม่สวยเท่า Winamp แต่กินทรัพยากร(CPU)น้อยกว่าวินเเอมล์ ถึง 3 เท่า แถม lame3.98-final เอาไว้แปลงเพลงจาก CD (audio) --> *.Mp3 copy lame.exe และไฟล์ใน \lossyWAV for foobar2000 ไปวางไว้ในโฟลเดอร์ C:\Program Files\foobar2000 copyไฟล์ plug-ins ไว้ที่ C:\Program Files\foobar2000\components ลากเพลงใน Play list ที่ถูกใจปล่อยที่(เหมือนCopy) Folder PC ได้ด้วย

lossyWAV ตืออะไร
lossyWAV เป็นกระบวนการประมวลผลเสียงแบบ PCM ที่ลดทอน bit depth บางส่วนที่สำคัญน้อยลงไป เพื่อนำไปใช้สร้างไฟล์ที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการบีบอัดด้วยรูปแบบ lossless ได้สูงขึ้น โดยที่คุณภาพตกลงเพียงเล็กน้อย จนหูของมนุษย์ไม่สามารถแยกความแตกต่างได้ แล้วยังเข้ากับมาตรฐานเดิมของรูปแบบ lossless นั้นๆ
ประสิทธิภาพ ของ lossyWAV ที่ค่ามาตรฐานของโปรแกรม (q 5) หากใช้ร่วมกับบีบอัดแบบ FLAC จะทำให้ขนาดไฟล์ลดลงครึ่งหนึ่ง จากขนาดไฟล์ FLAC ปกติ
ผมจึง คิดว่า lossyWAV เหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการไฟล์เสียงคุณภาพดี (ดีกว่า MP3 320 kbps) แต่ไม่มีเนื้อที่มากเพียงพอสำหรับไฟล์แบบ lossless แท้ๆ
