HTTPort เป็นโปรแกรมที่ทำให้ใช้โปรแกรมอย่างเช่น e-mail, instant messengers, P2P file sharing, ICQ, News, FTP, IRC ต่อไปยัง internet ได้ แม้จะต้องผ่าน proxy ที่ block port ที่โปรแกรมนั้นใช้ได้ โดยใช้หลักการตามภาพครับ

โดยจะมีสอง mode คือ ผ่านเฉพาะ HTTPortclient อย่างเดียว หรือ ตั้ง HTTPhost แล้วให้ตัว client ต่อเข้ามา หลักการก็คล้าย proxy แหละครับ
