    Book Description:

Traditionally, networking has had little or no basis in analysis or architectural development, with designers relying on technologies they are most familiar with or being influenced by vendors or consultants. However, the landscape of networking has changed so that network services have now become one of the most important factors to the success of many third generation networks. It has become an important feature of the designer?s job to define the problems that exist in his network, choose and analyze several optimization parameters during the analysis process, and then prioritize and evaluate these parameters in the architecture and design of the system.

Network Analysis, Architecture, and Design, 3e, uses a systems methodology approach to teaching these concepts, which views the network (and the environment it impacts) as part of the larger system, looking at interactions and dependencies between the network and its users, applications, and devices. This approach matches the new business climate where customers drive the development of new services and the book discusses how networks can be architected and designed to provide many different types of services to customers. With a number of examples, analogies, instructor tips, and exercises, this book works through the processes of analysis, architecture, and design step by step, giving designers a solid resource for making good design decisions.

With examples, guidelines, and general principles McCabe illuminates how a network begins as a concept, is built with addressing protocol, routing, and management, and harmonizes with the interconnected technology around it. Other topics covered in the book are learning to recognize problems in initial design, analyzing optimization parameters, and then prioritizing these parameters and incorporating them into the architecture and design of the system. This is an essential book for any professional that will be designing or working with a network on a routine basis.

*Substantially updated design content includes ad hoc networks, GMPLS, IPv6, and mobile networking
*Written by an expert in the field that has designed several large-scale networks for government agencies, universities, and corporations
*Incorporates real-life ideas and experiences of many expert designers along with case studies and end-of-chapter exercises

Network Analysis, Architecture and Design, Second Edition (The Morgan Kaufmann Series in Networking)
    Publisher: Morgan Kaufmann | Number Of Pages: 450 | Publication Date: 2003-04 | ISBN: 1558608877 | 14.7MB

The landscape of networking has changed so that network services have now become one of the most important factors to the success of many third generation networks. It has become an important feature of the designer's job to define the problems that exist in his network, choose and analyze several optimization parameters during the analysis process, and then prioritize and evaluate these parameters in the architecture and design of the system.
Network Analysis, Architecture, and Design, 2e, uses a systems methodology approach to teaching these concepts, which views the network (and the environment it impacts) as part of the larger system, looking at interactions and dependencies between the network and its users, applications, and devices. This approach matches the new business climate where customers drive the development of new services and the book discusses how networks can be architected and designed to provide many different types of services to customers.

This second edition contains an entirely new focus on network architecture, which completes the process from analysis to design. Network architecture takes the input from network analysis and provides a high-level view of the network, focusing on the relationships between major functions of the network, such as security, network management, performance and addressing and routing. A reference architecture, outlining how these functions are to be addressed within the network, serves as the foundation for the network design.

With a number of examples, analogies, instructor tips, and exercises, this book works through the processes of analysis, architecture, and design step by step, giving network designers a solid resource for making good design decisions

    * Substantial revision of the very popular first edition--Practical Computer Network Analysis and Design--by a seasoned network architect who has led numerous design projects in government, commercial, and academic spaces.
    * Effective examples, case studies, worksheets, and end-of-chapter exercises provide professionals and students with the necessary tools for learning important design issues.
    * Shows how to architect and design a network to provide the desired services and performance levels, and to choose the appropriate network technologies and interconnection strategies to meet architectural and design goals.
*Instructors can download the solutions to the exercises in the book by clicking on the "Instructors" resource link in the upper right corner of the screen and searching for author "McCabe."

    เอา 6 edition ไปก่อนแล้วกัน 8 edition ต้องไปซื้อใน amazon

The new edition of this best-selling book provides a comprehensive discussion of software engineering techniques and shows how they can be applied in practical software projects. This book features new coverage of the software process and software process technology, system integration, requirements management, and risk analysis, as well as new chapters on pattern-based reuse, distributed system engineering, and legacy systems. Sommerville has incorporated a more object-oriented approach in this edition—using UML and Java—and has removed much of the material on CASE, formal methods, and Ada, making the book more in tune with current technology and practice. A new discussion of professional ethics in the introduction helps to make readers aware of the responsibilities that come with engineering software. The sixth edition uses Java for all programming examples, and bases all design examples on UML notation. It includes new chapters on pattern-based reuse, distributed system engineering, and legacy systems, as well as new coverage of the software process and software process technology, system integration, requirements management, and risk analysis. This book is designed for readers needing a general introduction to software engineering (development, management, and evolution), especially with regard to system requirements engineering and critical systems.
