[HIB]Tektronix to buy Arbor Networks for undisclosed sum

Arbor Networks will be bought by Tektronix Communications for an undisclosed amount, the companies announced on Monday. The deal is expected to close next month. Tektronix Communications, based in Plano, Texas, makes network management software for service providers specializing in fixed line and mobile access along with other services such as IP (Internet protocol) TV, VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and WiMax, among others. Arbor Networks, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, provides network management and security software and hardware for ISPs. The company has released much research into distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks, botnets and other worldwide network security threats.
