A popular Little Rock restaurant was the target of financial fraud that has tripped up “hundreds” of people around Central Arkansas, the Little Rock Police Department said Friday. Police said that sometime in the past two weeks, the computer system at a Dixie Cafe in Little Rock was hacked into, and debit and credit card numbers were taken. The fraud is so widespread, the investigation has been joined by the Secret Service. “In this type of investigation, I hesitate to set a timeline,” said Brian T. Marr, the special agent in charge of the Little Rock field office of the Secret Service. “We are still in the preliminary stages, and the first thing we’ll need to establish is how it happened, then where the hackers are based.”
