Today, somewhat unsurprisingly, WikiLeaks continued its assault on the co-author of the Wired piece that first reported the arrest of Bradley Manning, the 22-year old Army analyst who apparently leaked the âcollateral murderâ helicopter video. Via its Twitter feed, WikiLeaks called out both Kevin Poulsen (the Wired writer) and his main source, hacker Adrian Lamo, the man who turned Manning into authorities. Iâll try to lay out the war of words as best as I can. Yesterday, WikiLeaks twittered, âWe do not know if Mr. Manning is our source, but the U.S. military is claiming he is so we will defend them,â which was initially confusing. Either it was an acknowledgment that WikiLeaks will defend the Armyâs decision to arrest Manning, or Manning himself. Or both. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange later clarified that â they will defend Manning.
